- MADRAS SHIRTINGSA super grade of cotton shirting woven in stripes and piece bleached. The ground yarns are combed Sakel, and warp stripes may be in rayon, silk, or twofold coloured cotton yarn. One quality in all cotton has 80 ends and 80 picks per inch, 20 cords per inch, 50's ground warp, 2/100's coloured warp, 2/60's cord, 44's weft.
